Homay and the Mastan Group-Meeting With Doozakhian part 7 of 17

Only in his 20′s, Homay is part of a very special group of Musicians who writes his own lyrics, composes, sings, produces and mixes his music in Iran. His ensemble consists of eight highly proficient Iranian musicians. These young spiritual and talented Artists transmit their message of truth and unity through novel lyrics and music. They achieve this by refreshing the traditional and folkloric music and introducing a groundbreaking interpretation of classical Persian music and poetry. Following the paths of the greatest Sufi masters Rumi and Hafez, the Mastan Group encourages its audiences to live consciously. They share the universal idea of striving for a creative life by flourishing love and peace from within. Gorooh e Mastan is perhaps the best thing has happened to Persian traditional music since Aaref Ghazvini of The “Iranian Constitutional Revolution era” of early 20th century. Even the few songs, which are not written by Homay, have been chosen very carefully from the great poets of the past and present. “It has been proven that today true spirituality can’t flourish under an obligatory and restricted religious atmosphere. Ensemble Mastan” is trying to transmit this important message to their audience. ” Ensemble Mastan” is trying …
Having your Artistic Cake & Eating it Too!
I recently had an email from someone who had visited our website, liked what they had seen, but had a question about our methods and philosophy. The question was this:
“What about if I am an artist and I don’t want to change my profession and also I don’t want to have another job on the side? I want to keep my work and have great benefits from that.”
In other words: I don’t want to do anything apart from my acting career, and I want to get well paid for it. What do you think about that?
My immediate response was a mixture of amusement and irritation. Of course, for everyone pursuing an artistic career, what we all ideally want to do is get paid a ton of money for doing what we love (just make sure you have had your financial education before this happens – you don’t want to end up a morality tale!). If you are a dramatic actor, making $100,000 per episode for being in a high quality night-time drama is about as good as it gets. For a musician, platinum albums generating millions in residual payments is where it’s at. For a sculptor, having ones work on display in private collections and museums world-wide would bring home more than enough bacon for any number of New York apartments and trips to South America. But, assuming that it may be some time before we find ourselves in those enviable positions, what are we going to do about money?
And that, I think, is the problem with thinking along these lines. Sure, there are those, very few, people who are lucky or talented enough to walk out of their acing schools and into full time acting careers, or whatever other artistic endeavours you chose. But, for the rest of us, there will be a period (anywhere from a few months to several years), where we will have to do something else in order to make ends meet, while we wait for the income from our art to allow us to live in comfort.
“Have to”. Those are the operative words in that sentence. Not “want to” or “like to” but “have to”. There is a great line in “Gladiator”:
“Sometimes I do what I want to do. The rest of the time, I do what I have to”.
Now, do you have to have another job while you pursue your artistic career? Not necessarily; but unless you are either supported to willing to live on the streets, then it is something that you seriously need to consider alongside your artist development.
For the person who asked the question above, I would say this, finally: At Abundance Bound we have tools to help you work out exactly how much you need to earn in order to live (email us at mailto:info@abundancebound.com with “Chart of Expenses” in the tag line for help with this). Having gotten that number, you can then find work, be it your own business or a regular job, that will provide that amount in the least time possible, leaving you free to pursue your art around it. If you can sell enough pieces or work enough days to not need anything else, then that is truly great for you, and the focus now becomes what to do with the money you are earning, so as to get the greatest benefit out of it (that is where financial education comes in)
But, for the rest of us, truly consider the options before you. Take control of your financial lives so that you can pursue your art free form the crushing weight of financial stress. Bite the bullet and handle things now, so that they do not get out of control later. And, above all, never stop focusing on your artistic success, because by doing that, all things are possible.
Smallville Actresses Team Up to Help Struggling Artists
The pretty ladies of Smallville are very much into the action on screen, but in real life, they are the advocates of the arts. Smallville’s Allison Mack and Kristin Kreuk put up an online store named Juicy Peach, which will serve as an avenue to sell their very own artistic creations as well as those created by their fans. The earnings garnered from the sales will be turned into $1000 grants for struggling artists around the country. The project aims to encourage creative expression while helping fellow artists find their way to success.
Allison Mack posted details in her official blog, explaining “Juicy Peach is a not-for-profit gallery and store born as a way to utilize art to support the creation of more art. We are dedicated to harnessing our success and abilities to create a community of support so our contemporaries will have the opportunity to do the same. Basically, we are selling stuff so other people can make and sell more stuff!”
“Artists who receive this grant will be creating authentic, unique, and innovative work in any of the following fine art fields: writing, performing, and visual arts, including film. Juicy Peach supports and encourages the brave act of authenticity in the pursuit of skilled professional artistry,” Kristin Kreuk explained. “Part of being human is to encounter and work through adversity. As an artist, there are times when adversity feels like a massive concrete wall directly in front of you, reaching just beyond where you could feasibly leap on your own. Juicy Peach is part of helping you find a way through that big, giant concrete wall.”
Fans should watch out for the Juicy Peach website, which is currently under construction. It will soon be up for purchases and submissions and aspiring artists can forward their work to the store by emailing info@juicypeach.org.

Miniature Artists
Artists of miniature works have often been set aside as being insignificant, unfortunately, as a result of the larger-than-life work of their “big art” counterparts, but the art of miniatures is certainly an art form worth looking at and examining closer. Miniature artists, meaning those that work on small-scale artistic pieces, have tremendous skill and patience. With some projects being miniscule, the patient resolve of a miniature artist is truly a sight to behold.
There are many top professionals in miniature art, many of whom have likely not reached levels of fame occupied by other more famous artists. Nonetheless, miniature art is a popular field and has various associations working in support of miniature art. There are several miniature art societies and clubs that encourage and promote miniature art work through various gallery showings, auctions, and promotional campaigns. The world of miniature art is – pardon the pun – growing.
Miniature Painting
Miniature painting is often one of the most painstaking processes to imagine, as paintings that are no more than three inches wide by three inches tall can contain some of the most intricate detail imaginable. The idea of painting something so miniscule can be staggering for those with no experience in miniature art, but for a miniature artist it is simply another day at the office.
Miniature art societies, like the World Federation of Miniaturists, have highly held standards of size measurements that all miniature art must meet. For the most part, the global standard on all miniature art is that the piece may not be larger than one hundred square centimetres or slightly over thirty-nine inches. There are different size definitions for different pieces of art through different societies, however, but most specifications match art that can be held in the palm of one’s hand.
Miniature painting was said to be first popularized in the 16th century in Europe, as portrait miniatures became fashionable. Portrait miniatures were used to introduce people to one another over long distances, as large pieces of art simply would not travel well and the convenience of smaller portraits made for easier transport. Most early miniature paintings took place using watercolor on vellum, but miniatures would also be painted on ivory or various enamel surfaces.
Miniature Construction
Miniature construction is also popular, as built-to-scale models of famous buildings or architectural structures are renowned around the world. There are many examples of scale-model building around the world, from miniature versions of the Taj Mahal to the Empire State Building. The painstaking construction of these miniatures is famous, too, as the patience of the artists is definitely something to be admired.
Miniature construction comes in smaller, more basic scales as well. Dollhouses, model cars, figurine collections, and other toy items are often considered to fall under the umbrella of miniature art, too. Some dollhouses are tremendously detailed, right down to the stove and miniature fireplace within. There are many examples of miniature construction art in everyday life that draws attention to the art form and represents the true creativity that is alive and well in the world of miniature art.

The New Face of Music
This talks about how certain elements in the music industry have changed for the worse. Ever notice the dark undertoned that is taken on by many artists after a certain level of success. This is all theory based on my OPINION.
